Silver Jubilee Celebrations

The Vedic Society of Southampton celebrated 25 years of the Hindu Temple in Southampton on 5th September 2009 in great style.

News Report of the event

Joining in the celebrations were many of the founding members of Vedic Society, the Mayor of Southampton, Mr John Denham MP and the Chief Superintendent of Hampshire Constabulary Mr Matthew Greening.

Hundreds of Vedic Society members gathered at the Vedic Community Hall. A delicious dinner was followed by an array of entertainment from the various groups that use the Vedic Society Hindu Temple on a regular basis.

A zesty Raas Garba item by the Mahila Mandal,

An educational sketch on the Bhagawad Gita by the Prarthana Group,

A hilarious combination of jokes and poetry by the Gujarati over 50s group,

Intensely memorable bhajans by Dr Pooja Angre from the Yoga Group that were instantly moving and divine

The programme was entertainingly compered by the elegant couple Latha and Sanjay Davda making the evening truly fantastically great.
