Prarthana Group

What is the Prarthana Group?

In 1999 a discussion amongst friends about religion and children led to a group of like-minded families to get together once a month to pray and discuss religious issues. This has since developed into the Prarthana group.

The primary aim of this group is to pass on the traditions of Hinduism and Vedic heritage to our children. Interestingly enough the adults themselves have gained a great deal from the Prarthana sessions.

The Prarthanas, shlokas and bhajans chosen from the countless available were those that were universal and ones that are child-friendly.

We meet once a month usually on the 3rd Saturday in
the Vedic Community Hall

Talk on Hinduism by Shri Jay Lakhani
Saturday 14th August 2010
7pm to 9pm- Mr Jay Lakhani and Aastha TV
6pm to 6.45pm Light snacks

Mr Jay Lakhani will be giving a Talk on Hinduism on Saturday 14th August 2010
 at the Vedic Society Community Hall, 79 - 195 Radcliffe Road, Northam, Southampton. SO14 0PS. He will also take some questions on Hinduism from the audience.
Please note the talk will be in English.
He will be recording the talk for broadcast on Aastha channel. 

You may already know him as he has a regular slot on Aastha TV Channel giving talks on Hinduism in English. He also has been on other TV programmes representing our religion. He teaches Hinduism to various schools and colleges. He speaks eloquently in English and so engages the youth of our community.

'Talk on Hinduism'

Mr Jay Lakhani gave a Talk on Hinduism on Sunday 1st Nov 2009 at the Vedic Society Community Hall. As always he was very eloquent, entertaining and enlightening. He also answered a lot of insightful questions from the lively audience.
We hope we all left much better informed about Hinduism.
